Use of calcium alginate/biochar microsphere immobilized bacteria Bacillus sp. for removal of phenol in water

• Bacillus cereus with high degradation efficiency of phenol was successfully isolated. Biochar (BC) loaded bacteria greatly accelerates biodegradation in water. BC and CABMM enhance bacterial resistance to phenol. CBAMM has great potential treating concentrated wastewater. A highly efficient phenol-degrading strain, identified as (GenBank No:MN784421) by 16S rDNA analysis, used for treatment the Under optimal conditions (10% inoculation strain suspension into beef extract peptone medium; 35°C; pH 7.0; 1% NaCl), provided 97.71% rate within 46 hours treatment. For improving tolerance toxicity, water hyacinth ( Eichhornia crassipes ) a raw material produce biochar under different pyrolysis temperatures. It been shown that 1400 mg/L combination 0.6% (w/v) prepared at 550°C can achieve 99.5% 60 also inoculated biochar, embedded immobilized calcium alginate form alginate/biochar microbial microsphere (CABMM 3-4 mm diameter), could improve toxicity.
